introduction

Henry Schadler Associates, pc (HSA) has conducted an architectural and planning practice in Connecticut since 1972.  During this period we have designed over 7,000 residential units, both new construction and rehabilitation projects.  Constructed projects include low-rise housing, mid-size congregate units and high rise apartments.

Numerous preservation-rehabilitation projects have been completed, adapting and renovating existing structures for new commercial and residential uses.  Several of our preservation projects have involved the renovation of existing  structures to comply with state and federal historic guidelines.

Our firm has a long history of working with both non-profit and for-profit companies, utilizing a variety of funding sources:  HUD, DECD, CHFA, FmHA, RIH, as well as several private banking institutions.  We have a strong commitment towards meeting our clients program and budgetary requirements.

mission statement

An architectural firm takes many shapes.  From creating new buildings to rehabilitative design, from large scale planning to interiors.  Each element must relate to an existing environment and yet be functional within itself.

The principals & staff of Henry Schadler Associates approach these challenges with what we call "architectural sensitivity," the ability to evaluate and provide the appropriate design, ranging from contemporary architecture to the preservation of tradition.

Each of our projects involve detailed attention to the character of the architecture within its surroundings, functional space utilization, and cost considerations.

Architectural sensitivity is in everyone's best interest. Examples of our contributions to this responsibility since our founding in 1972 are embodied in this site.
